Thank you for your service as always Matt, you are humble & lovable & clearly indefatigable (but hopefully there's a little much-deserved rest in your future).
In the great British tradition CCWC's piece was met with numerous "hear hear's" in the TFC chat today, I imagine his thesis resonates with almost all who see it so well-articulated (and I'll repeat here that I enjoyed hearing him say "parti-SAN" in my head when I read it). It's the one issue we can all coalesce around, if only Charlie had been born stateside he could be a late-drafted write-in candidate for the hastily created "I Hate Everyone" party.
Before you attack Matt for slacking off and producing so little this week, he ALSO found time to write some bangers for his day job at-large. (Please get some rest, Matt.)
Ha! This week was so far from slack I bet all three of these guys are catching up on sleep all this week. They produced an in.sane amount of content. So much fun to read all the things, and things attached to the things, and more things, and then a little baseball.
Absolutely love MKH's Chicago (the band) shirt! Their first few albums were so damn good, and they were never the same, nor anywhere near as good, after Terry Kath died.
Watching the DNC roll call video (and reading Matt's great piece on it) on this very blah Monday, and I'm kind of obsessed. Total beauty pageant energy, and it's equal parts goofy, awkward, unhinged, and kind of awesome (Newsoms notwithstanding). Sort of like a certain country I know...
Related side note: In my heart, the real title for the Pesca episode is "Corn Pones & Toilet Paper"
Amazing roundup. Met Andrew Heaton at the live recording of You're Not Wrong podcast in Chicago last Sunday. Would love to have him on as a guest as I thought he has been but he sadly assured me he hasn't.
This is a great travesty. He has made a lot of wonderful content for Reason, been on the Reason Roundtable as a guest panelist, and creates my Second Favorite podcast (and one that is much more consistent in releasing than my favorite, ahem). Maybe Heaton is *too* reasonable? Or they don’t want a Jim Henson impersonator on the pod?
The other travesty is that I kissed both of the live shows and a chance to meet Heaton in my own city while galavanting around the American Southwest touching various grasses(actually mostly rocks)
Unfortunately no. He was such a gracious person at a bar chatting with everyone. I told him I'd email the boys but posted this comment instead. He's known Matt for quite some time and I think he would be a wonderful guest on the show. He'd love to join for an episode.
For the first time ever I have read or watched nearly everything in the links. Thank you to all Three Musketeers, as well as the very formidable D'Artagnan (Rommelmann), for covering one hell of a week.
Ok. Querying Nick Gillespie and Robbie Soave’s heights. I saw a photo of them together and Robbie looked TINY and Nick looked HUGE. Seems unlikely because I also saw a photo of Nick at Burning Man being picked up by his bride.
Writing this digest at the end of that week is quite impressive. Thanks for the compilation.

MW's COVID-19 piece nails why hearing freedom in the mouth of the Minnesotan governor stinks.

As perfect that it is for Charlie Cooke to be #007, please bring him back for another episode.
Seconding. Against my own volition, Cooke is becoming a favorite of mine.
Don't miss his excellent podcast. Just look out for Boiling Rug. https://podcast.charlescwcooke.com/
Thanks for doing the livestream too for the peasants at home!
I love that picture of Nancy and Moynihan and MK Ham is so freakin cute. Loved live-streaming the shows. You guys are the best 🙏🏼

Touching grasses(rocks) > live shows+Heaton?
Priorities Anthony. PRIORITIES!
What? I swear Heaton has been on the pod.

Would love to see him as a guest. He is still one of my favorites in Reason vids. Would kill for Almost Weekly to come back!
Looking at that picture of you and MKH, I wonder Matt, have you and Scott Grimes from Oppenheimer, ever been in the same room at the same time?

You meant to say "Scott Grimes from Critters". :)
For the first time ever I have read or watched nearly everything in the links. Thank you to all Three Musketeers, as well as the very formidable D'Artagnan (Rommelmann), for covering one hell of a week.
Next week I will give you more new stuff!
I was really proud of myself! Most of the time I don't get to all of it.
Just wanted to send a Happy Birthday to Michael! 😘🎂
Well done, Lads.
Oh. And Kmele, too!
xoxoxo
How tall are you, Matt? I'm guessing from the photos that you're about 6'2".
6 even.
But he reads 6'4", no?
Ok. Querying Nick Gillespie and Robbie Soave’s heights. I saw a photo of them together and Robbie looked TINY and Nick looked HUGE. Seems unlikely because I also saw a photo of Nick at Burning Man being picked up by his bride.
Nick is tall and his fiancee is very tall
