The Ask a Jew episode is great. I also recommend ChayaLeah’s side piece “EdJewCation” where you can find a more indepth description of the trip. I teared up a number of times. It’s really wonderful to hear people connect with history so personally even when the history is so horrid. Truly a special episode.
Russia is predictably salivating over the South Korean debacle. Will be interesting to follow developments re. future S. Korean aid to Ukraine, Russia and North Korea's burgeoning military relationship:
Haviv Rettig Gur is the one of the very few public voices I rush to listen to even faster than I do when I see MM, MW, or KF have recorded something. (Obviously Thomas Sowell comes first.)
I wanted more time with Moynihan and Michael Knowles. I think Knowles has a tendency to not take on particularly adept challenges to his world view because he prefers to traffic in provocation more than making sincere arguments. When I've seen Ben Shapiro challenge him on the kind of things conservatives disagree on, I think Knowles largely gets the worst of it.
For this one, I do think that he (Knowles) skirted the main issue Batya was rightfully calling out that people are OK with living in gray areas of social policy. Complete consistency is a fool's errand. We have to pick lines in the sand in a world with shades of gray. People pick heuristics. Attempting to backdoor your way into convincing people to be against gay marriage for the sake of being fully logically consistent is just a losing move, so I hope social conservatives pick that up in full throated fashion and relegate themselves further.
Social conservatives have basically capitulated already with embracing Trump. At the very least, the libertarian leaning republicans took their sidelining without pretending like this is their victory.
Knowles's concept of freedom was also bizarre.
I could see Moynihan chomping to get into it. Let him cook Free Press!

Excellent little saw. Keeps up with my 20” gas powered saw without the headache and loud noises.

P.S. I also like the One-Hitter show, but sad Dave Stieb noises whenever I see that title.

For the record, Maté (on dworman) is just a rank hypocrite
I donated on the link in the post. It doesn’t mention Livia- will she still get credit? It is only $25 but I want her to get credit for every $.
Wait. Nancy hasnt been on the regular pod since episode #203? That needs to be rectified. Hopefully quickly.
She was on the first election-night livestream.
I commend you on your purchase, but to start the brand war up in chat; it should have been Milwaukee.
Matt - any chance to have Alex Nowrasteh (Cato) on the 5th to discuss the DOGE report published today? https://www.cato.org/white-paper/cato-institute-report-department-government-efficiency-doge#remove-energy-regulations-subsidies

Matt alludes to the fifth column having some friends in Salem, MA. Where you people at? That’s where I’m at. Let’s get a coffee.
