Tomorrow shall be a wonderful day. There is a Super Bowl, a super Second Sunday, and my super birthday.

So my camera will be on, pants will be off, the beers will be on ice, and the vodka will be served room temperature.

As for this evening, I will continue to troll my coworker who is a very old, unreasonably angry, and insane Korean lady.

She’s only 4’11”, yet still terrifying.

Thanks for the nod. It was fun, and you guys provide plenty of material to choose from. Guess I’ll have to do more when I can.

Do it!

Arch's work is reminiscent of the best of turn-of-the-century Internet culture. It's like one of those old Flash videos I will still have 100% memorized when I'm in a memory care home in 2080 being taken care of by AI bots. Excellent.

Super shoutout to @arch for the mash up video. Worth the piece of admission to the chat just for that!

I didn't get around to listening to the last episode until today. Re: the point that Trump probably sounds like an idiot in any interview that isn't edited, what about the Rogan appearance? Obviously, it isn't an interview with a journalist, but it is three uncut hours. Not necessarily defending or not defending Trump -- but rather stating my emerging preference for long-form conversations and interviews.

Why are you defending him, bro?

It’s sarcasm, please don’t hurt me.

lol...I figured as much since the alternative was poor reading comprehension, which would never apply to an NFC member!

The interview with the guy when he was talking about drugs was also fantastic.

I am starting to think Doug will go down in history along side Maris, Vera, the Gooch, and Carlton Your Doorman as one of the great unseen media characters of all-time.

Nothing more despicable than a Canadian Bruins fan. Ship em out!

I thought you outed Terry Gilliam as a subscriber! Then I had to check and make sure he didn’t die.

I appreciate where Strauss is coming from, and I feel that at times. But what I think you can take from that is that you should find a way between rumination and strident activism. It is possible to earnestly take a position and advocate for political or social change for it without the hubris that prevents you from listening to the people who disagree with you, makes you assume the other side is evil, or keeps you from ever reconsidering your positions.

It's ok that we disagree.

Agreed. It's not hard to do. Coming across as too cool for school on a major issue in your field causes loss of gravitas.

But he wasn’t too cool for school — he wrote (and writes) about this stuff often! It’s just a different lane than political activism.

Point taken. I can only comment on the excerpt provided. Perhaps too cool is too cute a phrase to be used here, however Ethan seems to suggest he could have gone a little harder in the paint, if so I would agree. Thankfully a bit of sanity has been provided by a guy who sometimes wipes his arse with a bare hand;)

atp based on the good husband index I think Moynihan probably has a better shot at Melania than he has at Megyn (but a man can still dream)

Daryl Cooper is gifting a month’s membership of Martymade (just like the Fifth did a few years ago, actually). Should I give one to Moynihan, or all three in hopes that he can stack them?

I’m good, thanks.

I would never do that to you Matt. It’s Moynihan I like getting a rise out of…

That was actually made by the unmarked grave next to Arch Stanton. Tuco made the same mistake.

Moynihan looks oddly like the MC Bat Commander (aka Christian Jacobs) from The Aquabats

So the 3/6 NYC event is offered to top tier subscribers only? Makes sense if that’s the case. Just curious.

I'm a little skeptical of the "policy uncertainty" issue, or at least I believe there may be a Trump exception. We had robust growth under the first Trump administration until the pandemic. I think the uncertainty may be offset by the fact that Trump is so reactive. For example, tariffs are disastrous but when the market reacted pretty badly to them, he shut them down right away with a quick, empty deal.
