Gladly sent you guys another $100 today. How the hell else is Moynihan going to pay for his daughter's gymnastics?? If I ever run into any of you in the city, I promise to match that amount at a local saloon in Brooklyn or Manhattan.
Matt have you heard Jimmy Webb's versions of Galveston, Highwayman and Wichita Lineman? They are on his album Ten Easy Pieces. He can really tickle the ivories but would have never been a threat at the Sydney Eisteddfod Under 9 solo singing competition.
Aww how nice, a shoutout! That comment thread really gave me and a couple people a huge dose of memberberries music wise. To that end I found an entire album of one of the bands my buddies were in. I got goose bumps listening to the first track. May not be everyone's cup o tea, but you can hear the "chicago" influence in there even tho the cover of this album was a map of my hometown. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pq5DoDDwBXs
Matt talking about his lookalike experience was once of my first Fifth-isodes. I had to stop in the middle of Park Ave to Google (then) the four of you while laugh-crying and subsequently being a few minutes late for work. Ah, 2018.
I’m sitting in my lonely lily pad inside the Beltway Swamp.....MTV Classic is kind of on a WTF-themes playlist tonight The worst of REM for Matt, and Kmele’s fave, Dave Matthew’s.
Tried to sit through that "Mornin"" nonsense but who knew there was a more annoying "Host" then Marc Maron out there? Ladies and Gentlemen Bill Shultz. We need you to blurt out "Ahhhhh" more than just before and after every sentence, maybe put one or two mid - sentence too? Liked how he mixed it up by using "OK" with it too. Holy Hell it was like watching a horrid stand up in an empty room "Ahhhh ok that one didn't land, ahhhhhh here's another ok".
Going back through some of these “workin for the weekend” posts. I had not noticed the Gordon Lightfoot bit at the end. That is truly one of the most beautiful songs ever written in my opinion and yes- Rick Beato’s breakdown of it only made me appreciate it more. He gets into the subtleties of the string arrangement in a way that feels like a master class on harmony. Who knew there was a sharp 4 in there? Beato’s the man!
How did I manage to not hear about Gordon Lightfoot passing, but David Crosby was everywhere? Gordon Lightfoot at Wolftrap around...2009? Was one of the best concerts I've attended. Now I'm extra disappointed I missed him last summer. If "If you could read my mind" doesn't gut you like a fish, you probably have no soul.
Oh, regarding the Substack anniversary, I recall getting my annual NFC amount shifted back to the requisite $50/mo so I should be expecting $600 deducted soon.
Tv is different than podcasting, but that Moynihan mao’s kitchen & che t-shirt rant was about as Fifth as it comes.
Thanks for making me cry again Matt.
Ever since I was little that song has killed me.

I have three one-month subscriptions for Ben Dreyfuss's Substack to give away.
It's surprisingly sensible sometimes and unsurprisingly hilariously unhinged most other times, so I can recommend the thing wholeheartedly.
Anyone interested?
I should just pony up to subscribe to Ben, myself, if only to read whatever he writes in response to this topic. https://www.nationalreview.com/news/they-make-me-vomit-jaws-star-richard-dreyfuss-blasts-new-oscars-diversity-rules/
My email is BobbysBurner2@gmail.com if you want to toss me a free one anyway. Feel free to save it for someone else though, of course!
Uuuuh, nice!
Maybe the gentlemen could get both Dreyfusses on to discuss the new Oscar rules (I’m sure Kmele would also have a lot to say about them).
Maybe Moynihan also has some insider knowledge from the “very famous actress” that he “knows” (I presume in the biblical sense).
Yes, please.
Cool :) Hmu over my burner account: junia.des.esseintes@gmail.com
Extraordinary song and wonderful delivery.

Nice to see Matt and Ben Shapiro go head to head in a Ben Affleck lookalike contest 🫠
This is the best title

Now, how to make it a tax deduction? 🤔
